I love HOPE EMPOWERMENT because they care about me and all of the students. During the school year, they help us with homework and during the summer they help with math and other subjects we have in school, but they also introduce us to new things. I helped write and record the program’s theme song using computers and technology that I learned in the program. In the Health and Wellness classes we study the benefits of eating healthy. I enjoy gardening, because I get to see the things we learn about in science class. What I really like the most is that the staff does not judge you when you get in trouble, but they teach you how to handle your emotions and solve problems, using good judgement.
Although I go to Hope Empowerment year round, I don’t mind it. I meet students from other schools, we play basketball, do class projects and other fun things. I love that they put on rewards programs and talent shows, where students can sing, dance or do other talents like Math Drills.
